Continental Mobile Robots
Industry 4.0 trends such as Smart Factory and increasing product diversity require a more flexible material flow. Material flow automation is a decisive factor in in-house logistics/intralogistics and thus for efficiency in the warehouse. But also in agriculture, the increasing demand for goods, coupled with a shortage of labor and bottlenecks in usable resources, are creating an ever-increasing need for automation, robotization and the more efficient use of remaining funds, i.e., smart farming. In order to improve material flow, driverless transport systems are increasingly being integrated into production, for example for pallet transport. In contrast to the established driverless, guided transport systems (automated guided vehicles / AGV), a new generation of autonomously navigating vehicles known as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) offers more autonomy through freer navigation. As part of a fleet management system, traffic, order allocation and loading are controlled and monitored in real time. On the other hand, the greenhouse and horticulture robot offers a robotic solution for both infrastructure and structuring as well as manual labor to perform tasks such as UVC treatment, selective harvesting tasks or monitoring activities and to ensure 24/7 operation.
